To Westpac Management
We the undersigned, call upon Westpac Management to address the chronic understaffing in the Lending Support Centre in the Canterbury Centre, Christchurch.
Workers in lending support are at a stage where we have no option but to write this letter and take action. Staffing levels are too low! This is causing undue pressure and stress on us. We are loyal members of staff who want the bank to listen and take action.
Please let us only have to ask once.
- We feel the bank is not utilising casual staff enough.
- We are forced to multi skill - do more than our own job.
- When we are moved to work in other areas for a period of time, we have to return to our own work load, which builds up.
- There is a lack of training for casual staff
- Stress is undermining peoples health
- Some staff are coming to work sick due to not wanting to let their team down. This can cause further illness.
We understand that the bank will be moving to NZLO, and that this may be the reason the bank is not replacing or employing more staff, however staff working in Lending support can not sustain the current staffing levels until then. We do not take this action lightly, we care about each other, and it is distressing to see people upset everyday due to these concerns.
