2009 will be a difficult year for finance workers in New Zealand. Finsec members are not immune to the current economic circumstances, but have the opportunity to move through them collectively and take steps to come out the other side in a strong position.

We are kick starting the year with two very important activities – an industry wide survey to find out if members’ issues have changed or been reordered due to the current economic events, and paid union meetings to confirm our issues and plans for the year.

It is really important that we all take this opportunity to get together across our industry, not just so we can have our say but also so that employers in our industry see how serious we are about making Better Banks for ourselves and our communities in 2009.
