IAG Update
7 September 2006
On Monday and Tuesday of next week negotiations for the new Finsec Collective Agreement at IAG will take place.
This is a really important time for Finsec members to be raising the issues that matter to us.
After discussions between Finsec members, the following key claims will be put forward to the company:
- A 5% across the board pay increase
- The inclusion of salary ranges in the Collective Agreement
- A guarantee of reaching 100% of the salary range after five years of service.
- An increase in annual leave by 2 days to twenty days per year. Twenty five days on the completion of five years service, or 10 years service in the industry.
We will also talk to the company in broader terms around options for the provision of childcare, workplace savings, topping up paid parental leave, and the issue of recognising the contribution of Finsec members to Collective Bargaining.
Finsec members have very clearly signalled that a fairer pay system is our number one goal . To ensure fairness and transparency we want to work with IAG to build a pay system that provides a guaranteed across the board increase to cover our increased cost of living, proper progression through the pay system, and genuinely high recognition for high performance.
As Finsec members we have agreed to working towards these changes. However we recognise that these are big changes that will not happen quickly . They will only happen if we work collectively, grow our membership, and engage with the company going forward.
We have already recruited several new members to Finsec so please keep up the good work. Keep talking to non-union members about the key issues and why working together as Finsec members is the best way forward. Please also find attached a worksheet to help you work out where you are on the salary range, and what percentage increase you are eligible for.
Please use these resources to inform yourselves and educate non-union members on the issues. We will be in touch again after negotiations next week.
