Union Organiser - Christchurch
Finsec, the Finance Sector Union, has a vacancy for a full time organiser in our Christchurch regional office.
You will undertake organising and recruitment activities that support the Union’s industry and enterprise objectives and campaigns. In addition, the Organiser will develop and implement site organising plans, as well as educating and supporting union delegates. Direct member representation and negotiation of small collective agreements may be required.
We are looking for a person who has a high level of people skills, a commitment to social justice, and is experienced in workplace rights, campaigning and employment issues. Experience as a Union Organiser would be desirable.
The position reports to the Lead Organiser and will require some work outside normal business hours and out of town travel.
